OXYGEN FOR ALL

Fundraiser for donating Oxygen Concentrators

As the second wave of COVID 19 ravages through India with daily reported cases and death toll hitting deadly numbers – the pandemic is wreaking havoc on families, medical system and its staff. With lack of beds, drugs and oxygen, many hospitals have been forced to turn away droves of sufferers. After overwhelming the health apparatus in cities and towns across states, COVID 19 is spreading into the rural areas. While lack of awareness and reluctance to submit to testing and treatment make the rural population more susceptible to COVID 19, the problem is compounded by the fact that most of the medical machinery is engaged in battling the challenge in the urban areas, resources are scarce to mitigate the Covid threat looming over the rural belt. As a result, the rickety rural health infrastructure is proving utterly incapable of handling the surge.

What is our objective? Purulia is one of the most severely impacted districts of West Bengal by the second wave of COVID 19. It has a daily average of 2900 cases which is one sixth of the total cases in West Bengal.
Dr. Subhashis Banerjee and few of his colleagues with backgrounds in different specialties have started humanitarian services in the form of free OPD consultation for COVID 19 patients, visiting remote villages and doing health surveys, providing essential medicines, pulse oximeter, steam vaporizer.
Recently they have started providing free inpatient services for needy patients in two charitable institutions in Purulia – Rameshwarlall Singhania Seva Pratisthan and Rotary hospital for mild and moderate cases of COVID 19 who need hospital treatment in the form of oxygen support and other necessary medications.
As evident there is scarcity of oxygen supply due to the increased demand, oxygen concentrator which uses environmental oxygen will be of great help.

What are costs for these medical equipment’s? The cost of each unit of 10 LPM Oxygen concentrator is approx. INR 145,000 (EUR 1635). The rates of procurement are on the basis that bulk orders are placed with the suppliers.

How can you help? Anandadhara is running a fundraiser through donations from anyone who wants to help this cause. With the funds collected, the medical equipment shall be procured and shipped directly to Dr. Subhashis Banerjee.

Your contribution can make a world of difference!

Heartfelt thanks to our donors who have extended their support and donated generously to help our cause. Our campaign to fight against COVID-19 is still on – every little contribution counts, please donate so that we are able to procure the Oxygen Concentrators and ship it to the charitable hospitals in Purulia.

Thank you donors!
